Medina Temple Bloomingdale's : Renovation / Adaptive Reuse
Medina temple was Chicago's former Shriner temple. To avoid its demise, a Chicago developer teamed with Bloomingdale's to repurpose the building. In accordance with the Chicago preservation codes, the exterior of city's landmark was preserved and refurbished with minor modifications. All interior levels were gutted to the basement and a separate structural system was devised for the interior and exterior. On this project, I did visualization and construction documents. The project was completed in 2005.
