The left image shows the existing station. To the right is the proposed State and Lake elevated station. This project consisted of creating a modular system that could be mostly constructed off site, then slid into place to limit downtime of the Chicago elevated train system. I like to think of it as a very large "erector set". I was involved in the schematic design, design development and pre visualization. Project was slated to be built in 2012, but with the CTA's financial situation, it may be postponed.
